What is dust/fume?
Smoke is finely dispersed solid particles (dust) in the air, which are produced in thermal processes such as welding.
When does dust/fume arise?
In welding technology, dust/fume and thus pollutants are generated from the use of base materials, filler materials, impurities, ambient air. As well as from processes such as evaporation, condensation, oxidation, decomposition, pyrolysis or combustion.
Why is dust/ smoke dangerous?
In general, any kind of dust/fume in high concentration and long-term absorption can lead to respiratory diseases (bronchitis, obstructive bronchitis). However, dust/smokes are dangerous above all if they contain hazardous substances.
