The history of TEKA
From a farm in Gescher to an international specialist in extraction and filtration technology: the development of TEKA since 1995.
1995
- TEKA Absaug- und Entsorgungstechnologie is founded on 1 April by today's managing directors Jürgen Kemper and Erwin Telöken.
- The company is initially based on a farm in Gescher, Westphalia.
1996
- Move to Velen, Westphalia, onto a 6,000 m² site.
- Entry into the Dutch market.
1997
- Market entry in Austria.
- First participation in the “Schweißen & Schneiden” trade fair in Essen.
1999
- The German Institute for Occupational Safety (BGIA) certifies three types of mobile filter units.
2000
- The German iron merchants' purchasing association (EDE) holds a symposium at TEKA.
2001
- Market entry in France.
- First major trade-fair appearance at “Schweißen und Schneiden” in Essen.
2003
- Purchase of a 20,000 m² site on Industriestraße in Velen for production, warehousing and administration.
- Presentation of filter systems for large-format plotters.
2004 – 2006
- Expansion of the production area by a further 300 m².
- Construction begins on another office and warehouse building; occupied in September by the departments from the technology centre.
- World's first BGIA certification of a central filter system (type FILTERCUBE 2N-4H) to an international standard.
2007 – 2009
- 2007: Finalist for the “Großer Preis des Mittelstandes” of the Oskar Patzelt Foundation.
- 2008: Opening of an external training centre in Borken-Weseke with two training rooms and all mobile and central TEKA standard systems.
- 2009: TEKA receives the “Großer Preis des Mittelstandes” of the Oskar Patzelt Foundation.
2010
- TEKA expands its AIRTECH range with the central extraction system BlowTec.
2011
- Participation in the research project “Intelligent Filter Monitoring” with Electronic Design Chemnitz, Turck duotec and X-Fab Semiconductor Foundries – funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF).
2012
- Establishment of a new branch in Austria.
- Launch of a cross-company training initiative.
2013 – 2014
- 2013: The TEKA Communication and Training Centre celebrates its 5th anniversary; TEKA joins the VDMA sustainability initiative “Blue Competence”.
- 2014: First in-house exhibition in Weseke with 60 participants.
2016
- Premiere of the Airtracker at EuroBlech – an ambient-air monitoring device with multi-sensor technology that automatically monitors and controls parameters such as fine-dust levels, humidity and noise.
- TEKA joins the Industry Business Network (IBN) 4.0 to implement Industry 4.0 in mid-sized companies.
2017
- Presentation of the Airtracker Mini and Airtracker Nano at Schweißen & Schneiden – for clean-air monitoring on extraction systems and air monitoring in air-conditioning and building management.
2018
- The Airtracker Pro in its third generation, optimised for Industry 4.0 and now able to communicate with production machines.
- New positioning with the VAC Series for on-torch extraction – thanks to its high pressure, ideal for continuous use in high-vacuum applications, including torch-integrated fume capture at welding workstations.
- Construction of a new headquarters for sales and marketing in Weseke.
2019
- Presentation of the new core range at Blechexpo.
- Opening of a new central warehouse in Spain.
- On a growth course: around 50 new employees.
2020
- 25 years of TEKA – founded on 1 April 1995 by Jürgen Kemper and Erwin Telöken on a farm in Gescher.
- Relocation of the company headquarters to Coesfeld: a 46,000 m² site with 12,000 m² of hall space.
- Contribution to fighting the pandemic: development of the VIROLINE Series, which inactivates viruses, bacteria and fungi and minimises the risk of Covid-19 infection.
2021
- AirCube – TEKA's most intelligent, sustainable and efficient filter system.
- EXCube – a highly efficient extraction and filter system that effectively separates all explosive dusts of dust-explosion class St 1.
Today & tomorrow
On course for clean air since 1995.
What began on a farm has grown into an internationally active specialist for extraction and filtration technology – headquartered in Coesfeld with customers across Europe. TEKA develops solutions for almost every industrial pollutant and works every day to make workplaces healthier and production halls cleaner.
And the journey continues: with intelligent, connected and energy-efficient filtration technology for the industry of tomorrow.
