Air purifiers make the air in play school cleaner

TEKA donates virus protection devices to DRK play school

"There was a lot of attention when the air purifiers moved into the nursery, but in the meantime our staff and the children have long since got used to them," says nursery head Anke Gerdemann, looking at the small grey box standing in the corner of the "bears" group room. The three TEKA air purifiers in the groups of the DRK day-care centre "Kleine Bunte Welt" in Coesfeld (Germany) have long been part of the inventory and hardly stand out among the craft tables, lamps and toys.

A few months ago, the VIROLINE Compac devices moved into the day-care centre on Akazienweg - as a donation from the TEKA company. "We were very happy about the chance to receive the equipment. After all, such an acquisition is not a matter of course for a day-care centre," says Gerdemann. The contact to the family-owned company came about through the parents. And the extraction system manufacturer complied with the request "from the neighbourhood" quickly and unbureaucratically, as TEKA Managing Director Simon Telöken emphasises.

A better feeling and more safety

Ventilation is still the top priority under Corona conditions. But: "It gives you a better feeling and more security that the air purification devices are also there," says Gerdemann. She was positively surprised by the low noise level of the units, 45 dB(A): "They are almost inaudible - even when it is quieter in the rooms," she describes. It is also important for safe kindergarten operation that the units can be locked. And how do you explain to children what it is all about? "They have now had over a year of Corona experience and are beginning to know what it is all about. We told them that there are viruses in the air and the devices make the air clean so you can't catch covid-19 or other virus- or bacteria-borne diseases so easily."

TEKA field representative Oleg Seikan nods and adds, "It is still important to know that the VIROLINE-Compac air purifier has a four-stage filter system including H14 high-efficiency filters. This type of HEPA filter eliminates more than 99.995 per cent of bacteria, viruses and moulds and is also used in hospitals and laboratories because of its effectiveness. An activated carbon filter also absorbs annoying odours."
