Solder fume extraction and systems for professional soldering workstations
Soldering produces fumes and fine dust from fluxes such as rosin, which affect the eyes, airways and health. We capture them directly at the source – with extraction technology that fits your soldering workstation.

Efficient solder fume extraction for clean and safe workplaces
Why solder fumes must be extracted
Soldering produces harmful fumes, particles and gases – especially from rosin-based fluxes, plus formaldehyde and isopropanol. They irritate the eyes and airways, can trigger allergic reactions and penetrate deep into the lungs. A powerful solder fume extraction system is therefore essential to keep the workplace safe, clean and compliant with the German hazardous-substances regulation (GefStoffV).
What the right extraction achieves
Our solder fume extraction systems capture emissions directly at the source and reliably filter them from the air via multi-stage systems of pre-, fine-dust and activated carbon filters. Depending on the application, mobile solutions for changing workstations or stationary systems for fixed soldering lines are available – low-maintenance and durable, developed and manufactured in Germany.

Why solder fumes must be extracted
Soft soldering produces fine particles and fumes – especially from rosin-based fluxes, plus formaldehyde and isopropanol. They irritate the eyes and airways, trigger allergic reactions and penetrate deep into the lungs. The smaller the particle, the deeper it goes – right down to the alveoli.
How deep particles penetrate (per DIN ISO 7708)
- > 10 µm: mostly retained in the nasal mucosa and throat
- 4.7–5.8 µm: reach the larynx
- 3.3–4.7 µm: enter the trachea and main bronchi
- 1.1–3.3 µm: advance into secondary and tertiary bronchi
- < 1.1 µm: reach the alveoli
Effective extraction captures these emissions directly at the source – before they reach the breathing zone.
Efficient filter technology for safe, compliant workplaces
Our solder fume extraction systems filter emissions through a multi-stage system – and support you in reliably meeting legal requirements.
- Efficient pollutant separation: multi-stage filter technology of pre-, fine-dust and activated carbon filters, even for the finest fume particles
- Healthy work environment: protection against irritating and allergenic substances such as formaldehyde, isopropanol or rosin residues
- Low-maintenance and durable: robust design, tool-free filter change, optionally with digital monitoring
- Compliant operation: meeting workplace exposure limits (AGW) and measures from the risk assessment under §6 GefStoffV
- Made in Germany: developed and manufactured in Germany – for reliability and durability for over 30 years

FAQ – Your questions about solder fume extraction
Why is solder fume extraction necessary?
Soldering produces harmful fumes and particles – especially from fluxes such as rosin, plus formaldehyde and isopropanol. Without extraction they enter the breathing air, irritate the eyes and airways and can harm your employees' health in the long term. Professional extraction captures these pollutants at the source and at the same time meets the legal requirements.
Which extraction system suits my soldering workstation?
That depends on the workstation type, the number of stations, the soldering process and the available space. As a rough guide: mobile bench extractors for individual or changing stations, stationary systems for fixed soldering lines, central systems for series production. We're happy to advise on the exact configuration including filter setup.
Which regulations apply to soldering?
The risk assessment under §6 of the German hazardous-substances regulation (GefStoffV) requires employers to identify and reduce airborne hazardous substances. In addition, the workplace exposure limits (AGW) must be observed – for example for formaldehyde or isopropanol. Our systems support you in meeting these requirements safely and economically.
How often do the filters need changing – and how much effort is it?
How often depends on utilisation, pollutant load and the filter system. The change itself is tool-free and done in minutes on our units; many models show the filter status digitally or signal the right moment. This way you plan the change rather than reacting to breakdowns.
What filter technology is used?
A multi-stage system: pre-filter for coarse separation, fine-dust filter (HEPA H13/H14) for the finest particles and activated carbon filter to bind gases and odours. Which combination makes sense depends on the pollutant profile and the requirements of your workstation.
Can I retrofit existing soldering workstations?
Yes. Many TEKA systems are modular and can be integrated into existing workstations or production lines – retrofitting too, during ongoing production, without rebuilding the entire system.
Are there funding options for solder fume extraction?
Depending on sector, region or project goal, funding may be available – for example via BAFA, BG ETEM or regional initiatives. We're happy to check together whether your project is eligible.
Does TEKA offer rental or leasing?
TEKA primarily sells its solder fume extraction systems directly. For trial deployments, interim solutions or time-limited projects, individual rental or leasing arrangements are also possible on request – just talk to us.
